Seashell Shack :: Spindles
SALISBURY'S SPINDLE Most of the species of this group of elegant sea shells are shaped like spindles. All are elongate, with a many-whorled spire, a straight, long siphonal canal, and a smooth columella. Some of them have ornamental features that include strong tubercles and vertical folds; spiral ribs, and spiral ridges inside aperture. A few species are long, thick, and heavy. Some have a left-handed spiral.
